Blogging / Decor / Home / Life / Personal / Products / Thoughts

For anyone who’s been paying attention, you’ll have noticed that over the course of time my “weekly wants” have shifted from material belongings – aka stuff – to more ephemeral things. The change didn’t take place overnight, but over the course of months. I was completely ignorant to it, in fact. At first, I was asking for purses, jewelry and candles. Then, I graduated to art, hand-crafted blankets and gifts that packed some charitable punch. Eventually, I forsook (??) even those and asked for a white Christmas or a sassy gay friend. I’m not sure why, but asking for more stuff had become a thing of the past. Which is why, I think, the whole series was slowly winding down. I am so fortunate in so many ways that asking for more just seems plain old greedy and ungrateful – and I really am neither. And stuff is just, well, stuff. It doesn’t mean anything…. Which is why I had to laugh this morning when I saw this and knew I had to blog about it. I’m in love with it. It’s subversive cross-stitch and if it isn’t a whole new thing then I don’t know what is. So, if I was having a “better self” moment, apparently it’s over. At least for as long as it takes to push “publish”. Hope you are all having fabulous days! I am off to pick up my peeps!! xoxo

  1. haha, “better self moment is over,” but your humor remains. I too love this. Might not want to hang it in the bedroom. I like to think that we already own this since it is on your blog. {{{hugs]}} Kozo

    • Lol, Kozo! I won’t be buying this any time soon, let alone hanging it in the bedroom! I’m happy though that someone gets my sense of humour!! xoxo
